Spring punting comp

Okay, I'll be starting this next week. (August 4)

Sort of a mixture of the regular punting comps we used to have and the head to head comps I've run the last 2 times. I think it should be interesting.

During the months of August, September and October we will all be given a starting bank of $500 to bet with. We will be betting on any Unitab meeting covered on Saturdays and other major carnival meetings. The two people who end up with the most money in the bank at the end of each of those months will go through to the finals. So, we could have as many as 6 people in the finals or we could possibly have just two.

Unlike the last couple of comps where some tipsters have been out of the running with a month still to go, this format will give everyone a chance of qualifying right up until the last Saturday before the finals. As per usual, the finals will be conducted over the four days of the Melbourne Cup carnival.

I'm going to introduce exotic betting into this comp too, so we can use any type of bet that you can do on the Unitab website...... Win, Place, Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta, First4, Double, Treble, All-up.

Okay, who's interested?

I'd prefer win/place betting..... so I'll pass thank you Sportz

Huh???

I can certainly keep it at Win/Place betting if people want it that way, but I thought that people would like the opportunity to use other bet types???

What about everyone else? :o

I am with Stix. Prefer only Win/place.

Yeah, but generally, the success rate is less with exotic betting, so they could end up doing all their dough too.

The way the competition is organised, if someone was to get an absolutely HUGE first 4 dividend on August 4, that certainly wouldn't mean they were home and hosed in the comp and it definitely wouldn't rule anybody else out. It will be a battle of tactics as much as anything, and a steady as you go win/place punter could very easily win the comp over all the exotic bet punters.
