Betfair Trader

Interesting story for those that use Betfair Trader.

Thanks for the link, in fairness to Adam, the program has been developed a lot more since any of those blog entries were made, and I've found the technical support to be excellent.

Some of the issues were due to developers pulling out of the program when it was half completed. Since then he has new developers and the product is excellent.

Interesting journey by the author though, clearly demonstrating, it's not as easy as the videos show.

It certainly isn't.

Does anyone know what the status of Betfair is in Australia now - I've lost track but for a while it was illegal to use it for Australian racing in some States but not others? I suspect things have moved on and I've been asleep at the wheel...

Sparky, at this point in the game, WA is the only State where Betfair is illegal, although all of us in Australia are barred from in running betting unless it's over the phone - which is pretty much useless ;)

If we had in running betting, I don't think I'd ever have a losing trade and I suspect that that's the piece of the puzzle missing from the armoury of the successful traders, rather than being able to "predict" market movements.

Thanks Chrome Prince. I'm from the UK and I know that loads of people had great fun betting in running on the jumps races over there - some of the 4mile chases in the heavy going (ie: every week!) took about an hour to complete, esp at the smaller tracks where the quality of the horses was somewhat questionable, so you could get a whole day's betting action in just the one race! Maybe a good retirement plan would be to get a subsription to Racing UK on the net and stay up late each night. Not.

I'm doing that already and I need daylight saving to kick in before I bang my head on the keyboard and lay the field at 1000/1 from sleepiness

Have had nothing but positive experiences with Betfair. Prices good, markets fine, interface fine, customer support fine.

Only problem is they don't cover all races, and with some races it's a win only market. :\

I wonder why they do not put up the placings for a race .
This is especially handy if betting in overseas markets.

Cheers.

Excel Tracking Worksheet

Had a fiddle with the "Excel Tracking Worksheet" the other day

Seeds of something interesting there if you're that way inclined.
