Gambling is a sin
Is anyone on here a professional punter or claim to be?
|
You mean there are members here who are NOT profitable professionals? Knock me down with a feather!
|
Ark, Ark, aspiring maybe! but if you mean is there anyone here making money out of "Horse Racing" (as against punting) YES there is/are.
|
I am not professional ( in that not the majority of my income comes from it) but I do ok from it ....

Winners are Sinners!!
:D :D |
"Horse Race Investors" (hee hee) tend to be a bit on the supersticious side, if ever we post a selection as a certainty, it falls over, or the jockey falls off, if ever we miss a bet it ALWAYS wins, if we just get on in time it ALWAYS gets beat, when we back the wrong horse by mistake it gets beat and the right one wins, if we manage to cancell the bet in time the wrong one wins and the right one gets beat, if ever we post that we've just backed 6 winners, the next TEN get beat, etc etc, so it's unlikely that you will get anyone to admit that they are a professional, as they are that only as long as they are "right"

Most punters are far too lazy ever to make it to pro. status, This writer included!

crash makes a good point ...
The majority of people that excel in any profession ( whether it be investing, gambling, cooking or ****** poop scooper) are those that have a fanatiscm with the profession. It is these people who spend 12+ hours a day looking at form, going through their bets, checking the stats, running the odd lines, etc to increase their skill level. But there are also those who are "smart" and just find a profitable way and stick to it but I find most of these people don't stick to it because they haven't developed the method or understand the logic behind it. It is these people who go running at the first few losses and complain bitterly. Good luck. |
i could never be a professional punter.......i enjoy it too much.......im one of those punters whose in it for the adrenaline. i love watching my horse race neck and neck with another and losing by a nose. the adrenaline is amazing. i prefer to see my horse in a neck and neck finish or three lengths off the leader with a furlong to go than in front by 5 with a furlong to go......... im one of those punters who when he sits down to play the pokies wants to be sitting there for a half hour to lose his money. if i hit the jackpot in the first 2 mins and quad my money im not happy cause the adrenaline at maybe losing my money hasnt happened. obviously money matters and it makes life and everything that comes with it a lot easier but...... as dumb as this sounds....... winning gets boring.......if anyone understands my psych analysis of my punting let me know.

So where's the sin bit come in? That what I'm in it for.
