(Aus.) $2.2 million for $1 all up!
60yr.old 50p punter in England just won (Aus) $2.2 million for backing 8 winners in a row!
Turns out to bet the largest ever Betting shop win in the world. I think I'd need a cup of tea and a good lay down after that effort. |
Yes, I saw that crash.
There seems to be some discussion that it could be a marketing ploy. He'd have to have at least two longshots in the mix to get that sort of payout. It's probably true, but I reserve judgement til we at least see a scan of the ticket. |
Here are the odds, but they don't say in which order.

Chrome, that's what we were talking about in another thread, 6x9-1 shots = 1million to one, 8x6-1 shots = 1.6m to one. that's why pommie punters prefer multiple bets i.e Yanky's, Super Yanky's etc the CHANCE to win big
for a modest outlay. |
Thanks, sounds legit seeing as they have actually published the odds of the winners.
Good luck to him, I bet he spent a fortune in his lifetime and is only now in front :) |
no doubt, but it happens every week if not every day, not to that extreme, but big winners every week.

That's how my grandfather made his fortune in Ireland.
In Limerick, he picked the card in an all-up bet, although he didn't bet via exotics (don't even know if they were around then), he "let it ride" for the card. He did it by looking at the horses in the yard  |
Probably a good thing to have a race card all-up of random numbers rather than a Tattslotto ticket. Much better odds and a lot cheaper!

Hey Crash, thats a brilliant idea!

Chrome, my Grandads story. He had an allottment alongside Teeside Park Racecourse (then Stckton Racecourse) he was asked by a visiting trainer if they could hire some buildings for the day as there weren't enough stables on the Course;and he agreed. Later the trainer gave him three tips rank outsiders but all with a good chance.
The next day he and my dad went to the races (a first for my Grandad) he put his shilling on the first horse, it won at monumental odds! they had some lunch and a few beers out of the winnings and waited till the next one was running, he put whatever was in his pocket on the second one at something like 50-1, it won, they went and shouted the bar, and had a great time till the last race, he put what was left (a substanial amount in those days) on the last one, ......it got beat in a photo finish at massive odds, so he done the lot. When he got home, staggering and singing, my Gran asked how did you do? he said "ah, I lost a shilling" |
