My Doncaster System...
Requires the, Lowest Weighted GRP1 winning 3yo this season - This year it looks to be
the Snowden\Niko. Filly 'Forensics', but I hope she comes in a bit re. her draw - Strange that her $1 million dollar Golden Rose win was a GRP2 race whereas her couple of hundred grand QOTTurf win was a GRP1 - it was over 1550 and she came from 7th at the 400 to win - At her previous start in the GRP2 over 1400 she came from 10th at the 400 to win. As usual there is a bit of a 3yo fly in the ointment named 'Triple Honour' because he lost by a NOSE in the GRP1 Randwick Guineas mile, to arguably the best 3yo we have seen in a while 'Weekend Hussler' - he has the Boss on board and a good draw. Good luck with whatever you all choose. |
Racer, be careful with TRIPLE HONOUR. An article in the Courier stated that after his 2nd to WH (which must have been a gutbuster) he left his feed and was a bit off according to his trainer.
Although it did go on to say that he was now a bit brighter after having his routine changed to beach work and a change of environment. |

Thanks for the heads up Joe. - I hadn't seen that - and now they say the HQ track is heavy I will tread lightly this year because both have only managed 'Dead'. |

No way Joe - I have noticed over 50 years to take the words of trainers with an absolute pinch of salt, but continuously remember, ' They do the opposite of what they say, watch very carefully what they DO'. With that in mind if you can review the film of the race have a look at 'Forensics', it missed the jump, Niko. gave it a couple of mins. to get right and then began to pick up, but chose to stay on the rail, and ran into a brick wall just when she was doing two to their one - Before the race they were going to retire her - I hope they give her one or more chances in Group races. Many days before the Slipper Niko. did the exact same thing with 'Portillo' ran into a rail brick wall, and 'Portillo' was trying to climb over those in front, I took a bagful of the $9.00+ odds at it's NEXT start when it did not get stuck on the rail - I thought they would give the Slipper a miss after it's 1200 win because that horse needs more ground than 1200 - and it's worth remembering that - even though he ran third in the Slipper. |
