Bye Bye Freo

Doies anyone seriously expect Fremantle to play against the Bulldogs like they did against Geelong? Seriously Fremantle should be fodder for the undefeated Bulldogs. There is a major culture problem at Fremantle. I think too many players there are lazy and just put in at AFL intensity level when they feel like it. The Fremantle Dockers? Maybe there really is something in calling them the Fremantle Shockers?

Actually I'm surprised Freo are as short as they are for this match...on Betfair $2.24 Freo $1.8 Bulldogs...so a possible upset coming up?

They managed to do it again. Lose to Carlton today after leading at three quarter time. Four losses in four games when leading at three quarter time. That's called choking. When does Pavlich miss a goal from a set shot 30 metres straight in front? Well he did in the last quarter.

Yes, I'm surprised how 2008 has gone for them. Maybe it's not a coincidence that after tonights matches the bottom 3 teams (Melb, Freo, Ess) have first-time rookie AFL coaches.

Schonegg, if Kevin Sheedy was in charge on any of those teams they would be in a much better situation. Fremantle would probably be in the eight. Essendon would be challenging eg. Patrick Ryder who Sheedy had such a massive opinion of, and played top football under Sheedy, would probably be playing much better football than now. Melbourne would be in a far better financial situation with Sheedy's promotional skills - surely there would have been a jump in membership - and would have done better on the field. Would Sheedy have immediately got rid of so many experienced, hard players such as Godfrey?

But heh, the admins. of these clubs thought they knew better. They decided a super coach with brilliant promotional skills was too old and went for young, untried coaches.

Try telling that to Manchester United with a manager approaching 70 and a club that pays individual players more than the entire Essenson salary cap. They would be laughing in my opinion at the choices of Fremantle, Melbourne and Essendon.

Off thread topic, but Sir Alex will go down as the greatest Manager in English soccer history. Been in charge of many new eras of players and continued to win all the prizes available
