Fav for the place

I need some info that i can't get from my data base.

What percentage of favs run 3rd and at what average price for place?

something qik and easy, i am sure someone here can give you their exact stats based on the resident DataBase
nice and easy remember so approx ,favs
33% win, 33% 2nd and 3rd , 33% unp
twice as many favs run 2nd than 3rd.
and they run 1st or 2nd 50% of the time.

The percentages will change according to field size.

Their SR drops dramatically once we go 14+ runners but their dividends don't change all that much..
That's why they represent poor value for place bettors.

The highest SR is 8 runners exactly. (1st 2nd,3rds)

Fav win ~32%
Fav second ~19%
Fav third ~14%

I'm sure it would surprise a lot of people, you'd think the S/R for second or third would be much higher, but it seems that the fav either wins or fails completely.
I never checked it before because I'm not interested in favs, but for multiples it pays to keep this in mind.

Good luck

The average prices returned [TAB] on favorites for the place are so low that the SR required to make a profit would be impossible to achieve, unless decent fixed place price odds could be found. I don't know of any bookies who will do that.

I don't think you could get odds enough to cover the losses Crash,

The POT for second is -80 and for third is -85.
A lot to cover here!
