anyone know what happened to hawkeye mort on saturday.

It was lethargic out of the barriers which is hardly ever the case, then just couldn't keep up. From what connections say in the Stewards report it seems the horse has basically had enough this preparation, and gone for a spell.
It's not a top horse but has earned 226k from 27 starts, I'd like to own one of those :)

bad luck

i caught him a few times when he won including previous start.
i was surprised that a horse can get to the barrier with no hope without a sign of fatigue.
