Track Forecasts

I was listening to the racing preview on the radio this AM about 0630-0700 and heard the crap that these racecourse managers give out about the state of the track and conditions (its been going on with some of them for years - particularly in Syd, Bne and Mel -in that order)
"MV just into dead 5 - showers forecast but no problem.
"Dmb yesterday Good 2 but some overnight rain makes it a Dead 4, hoping for strong wind that might see an upgrading"
Morph didn't hear much except for rating it a Dead 4.
Having an idea what the weather pattern has been like recently, I had a look at the Radar and all three had quite large technicolour patches heading towards them an at that stage I would have taken a 3 track allup win bet that they would all end up at least slow.
It'll never change I guess because they will always blame the weather !
There that's got it off my chest.
Cheers....Mancunian

PS. I broke even for the day, but I didn't bother much with venues that had doubtful weather.

Doomben was always going to be dead/slow. That's all I heard from any previews. They do try and say their ideal rating though to get the most horses racing

There is no way Doomben is a dead 4 today. They chopped it up on Saturday on a slow 6 and the weather hasn't been that good the past few days.

I didn't hear radio or see the races today, but they never changed it - still showing DEAD in the results after the last race.

Doesn't mean it was correct. Most people i.e track staff/stewards in racing circles these days wouldn't know how to use an penotrometer for a start and they wouldn't know what the readings meant.
