Retirement Staking Plan 2007 - 2010

Just run pre-post favourites for Open Handicaps and 3yo races (some restricted) for Melbourne Saturday meetings (A couple of Sunday meetings included due to very hot day in February 2009 and Christmas Day this year) through the Retirement Staking Plan. Period of trial was 3 March 2007 to end December 2010.

No equal pre-post favorites included and if favourite was scratched the 2nd solo favourite was taken as the favourite.

Started with a Target of $10 and a divisor of 5 and an initial bank of $200.

Results gave a profit each year albeit a very small profit in a couple of years (2010 for Open Hcps and 2009 for 3yo races)

Open Hcps

2007 $82.70
2008 $123.90
2009 $70.80
2010 $6.00

Bank peaked at $545.15, currently $483.40, largest bet $16, next bet $14 for a target of $72, longest losing runs were 9,10 and 11, longest winning streaks were 5 twice

3yo Races

2007 $98.80
2008 $77.20
2009 $14.30
2010 $123.08

Bank peaked at $518.38, currently $513.38, largest bet $34, next bet $3 for a target of $17, longest losing runs were 11 and 14, longest winning streaks were 8 and 5 twice.

This was an interesting exercise with both banks increasing by about 150% over 3 years and 10 months. If only I had started this when I was 18 then I may have enough to retire on in the next 10 years or so!

A quick update on the results for 2011, upto and including 5th March 2011.

Open Hcps

Bank has reached a new high $565.90, with 2011 being in profit by $82.90 with the next bet $2 and longest run of outs = 7

3yo Races

Bank has dropped to $468.88, with 2011 now losing $44.50, next bet is $9 and in the midst of a losing run of 7 It will be interesting to follow the ups and downs for the rest of 2011.

Hey Try, why don't you do a test for the 3YO method but start in March.
As the way I see it they have not really sorted out the pecking order until about then.

Hi Jose,

Only considering the pre-post 3yo favourite in Melbourne from 1st March to 31st July each year the results were:-

2007 $102.20
2008 $ 61.20
2009 $ 27.05
2010 $ 19.00
2011 ($ 3.00) - only one selection

Started with a Target of $10 and a divisor of 5 and an initial bank of $200.

Longest losing run was 14, largest bet was $34, new peak of bank $413.45 was on 31st July 2011. Current bet is $3

With that Retirement staking plan.

I have found that it works a lot stronger, if the divisor is reduced by the number of points, as to its winning price.

Example No.1
Say winner is struck at $3.00

We then reduce its divisor points by 3 ,instead of the originators rules, which would have been 2 ,as in 2/1

Example No,2
Winning dividend struck at say $4.00
Reduce next divisor by 4 pts.

With the Retirement plan , we never go lower than 5 for our divisor.

It then restarts at the beginning, as soon as a new bank high is reached, no matter how small the profit.

This rule is very important & probable the main reason why other staking plans eventually go broke, because they refuse to restart once only slightly in front.
They want more & end up paying the penalty.

I personally use 1.5% of bank, a divisor of 10 all bets placed at same time (and same amount) daily or weekly if you so desire. Any losses added to your target and every time bank peaks bet 1.5% of new bank high.

For your information Partypooper you can set that up in the file I sent you.

Enjay.
