Don Scott Questions

Hi Guys

Just a quick couple of questions if I may:

* Just wondering that like neurals, do the DS ratings change from time to time?
* Do they change once final scratching are announced?

*What "filters" have you found to be beneficial once applied to the DS rating?

....after 5 years with neurals, I've found something else to occupy my time with :D

Thanks very much in advance

Hi Stix,

scratchings do change his prices but I can't be certain if this is done immediately. However, if a scratching is still shown as a runner in his market, one can manually load that scratching(s) on the worksheet by clicking-on to the Dinc column (right hand side of the screen) for any horse. This will immediately remove the horse(s) from his market and recalculate an updated price for all remaining horses.

I think the most important filter/factor in his market is that horses resuming from a spell can generally be heavily penalised.

Good luck with it.

Thanks Michael.

Anyone have an easy way to save your customised form guide to excel?

Right clicking the page to export to excel doesnt work

I get an error: "Web query returned no data. To change the query, click Ok, click the arrow....."

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Stix,
here is a way of downloading to excel:

1. right click on the window and select "Select All"
2. Copy & paste to Excel
3. Save the file in ".CSV" format
4. Open the ".CSV" file with Excel & you get this (Ballarat Race 1)

The numbers shown in each individual column are integer value of actual number. Them may not add up to the exact NR value.

You can then extract what you require (copy /paste) and save as in excel format.

A bit fiddly - but easy to do (the data can be downloaded automatically if you have the programming skills)

OK, have found the following to be helpfull when using the DS ratings:
* no Dead tracks
* no Apprentices
* no Metro
* >=55kg
* no Mares

These appear to be your "usual suspects" when assessing races, but seem to be effective.

Anyone else like to share their findings would be appreciated, or dorp me a line at stix_hotcopper @ aanet com au

Cheers

Stix,

I do read these. I just haven't had time to folow these angles up.

Stix
Your writings do not fall in front of blind eyes. Some of us do not have anything worthy of contribution. Given time we may but in the interim it would be insulting to put something into the mix for just to be heard. I was always taught if you cannot constructively contribute then shut up. But when you are after a response and don't get one, then it bites.
