Google Spider.

Being somewhat of a very old retrobate can someone tell me the purpose of a "google spider"

its not really a spider. Its just a program that "crawls" around and finds web sites.

What I know about computers could be written on the back of a postage stamp yet my old mate at 86 can zip around his with ease.
