Be sure to keep a close eye on John Hawkes trained 'Valeur' in Melbourne Race 2 on Saturday. The horse is having its first start and is out of Octagonal and will no doubt be in mint condition coming from the Hawkes camp.

Thanks Testa, was nice to finally get some money back from Unrocel Saint. Nice price too.

Kugelhopf - I was very disappointed to see the track dry out. Ran a great race at 40-1, got back a bit too far, then took the rails around the bend and was going close to the lead at 250m, but the others went even better down the outside. A wet track and it would have been very close to getting up. Oh well. Keep an eye on if gets heavier going next few runs.

Tellem - ended up very short at $2.20 but still racing very well, and a good win. Looking forward to the next time racing in city, and as matures will get better and better.

Mr Lofty - disappointed in the run, really thought he was a good show after behind held up in straight last start, then storming home. Not sure where he'll be going now.

Star of St Covet - did not do too much, will have to watch replay again to see whether to follow.

Sheer Devotion - found them too classy, though I still believe will show up soon, maybe a slightly easier race soon.

Bello Signor - not a bad run by the old stager. Should still be thereabouts in next few starts.

Moringas Mandrake - well at $213.00 was not expecting a miracle, but a horse that did run a nice trial recently. At those odds always worth a few bob.
