From today the 3 and 4 pointers shall be combined, as the 3 pointers have performed successfully. And all selections not having at least two starts in its current campaign shall be omitted. With this rule, the results from Sunday would have been:

10 selections for 9 placings including 8 winners. The return on place betting was $11.00, and $19.80 for win betting

If this rule had also been applied to my Place system the results would have been:

5 selections for 4 placings including three winners. The return on place betting was $6.00, and $10.20 for win betting.

Today's selections are:

Ipswich R6 no. 7 - Royal Hero
Ipswich R7 no. 1 - Memphis Express
Albany R6 no. 8 - Bandolero

Michaelg,

Can you let me know if I'm analysing this correctly?

I have the same as you for today with the exception of PR Race 4 #4 Kruz. I excluded it because #1 'He for Hidey' has a rating of 99 (hence failing the gap of 3 or 4 rule).

Thanks, Costanza

Michaelg, the selections are going really well at the moment (even if they are short prices) so let's hope it continues.

But, regarding today's selections, I think you'll find that for Albany R4 the gap is only 1 as No1 is rated at 99 so no bet right?.

Also Michael, when you say Top 3 Prepost favs do you count equal favs as 1 or 2 positions?

In other words, if the market was 3.00 [fav], 4.00, 4.00 [equal 2nd favs], 5.00 - is the 5.00 horse 3rd fav or 4th favourite?

My logic here is that if there's a dead heat for 2nd then the next placegetter is 4th not 3rd.

Hi, Costanza and Michaelv.

You're right - my error re Kruz, it is NOT a selection. Sorry.

Costanza, in your example re pre-post favourites, if the selection was $5.00 it would not be shown as a selection as it was the fourth fav. And if it happens to be the equal-third fave, it would not be selected in the system. The selection must be in the top three outright.

Yesterday's place divvies have been pathetic. The total divvy in NSW for the place was $7.10, yet in Qld it was $7.70, and $7.80 in Vic. Percentagewise, it's quite a dramatic difference. The NSW divvies are calculated using a "daylight robbery" or even a "Ned Kellyesque" method. I am keeping a record of the divvies from all three TABs.

If anyone is interested, I've looked at today's NSWTAB ratings. Using the exact same rules (except there must be a minimum of 4 points), today's selections are:

Ipswich 7/1 Memphis Express (5 pts)
Randwick 6/4 Plains (4 points)
Albany 3/2 P. Witch (5 pts)
Albany 6/1 Ohio (5 points)
C'bourne 5/5 Costaletta (6 pts)
C'bourne 8/1 Marbine (6 pts)
C'bourne 9/2 Allegro S. (4 pts)

Cranbourne 5/5 and Randwick 6/4 have already been run - and they have both won.

I have edited Kruz from the original posting as it is not a genuine selection and there is still over an hour prior to the race. I have also edited Ipswich 6/2 from the NSWTAB selections as it is first-up from a spell.

Hi, Sportznut.

You must have made your posting as I was editing my previous. You are right about Unitab's ratings, it was my error.

I must be more careful, especially if money is going to be bet on the selections.

sportznut 10th March 2004 04:44 PM

Yeah Michael, I saw that you edited your previous post. That's why I deleted mine. No worries.

Michealg,
I have to agree with you in relation to nsw tab place odds, that's why you HAVE to subscribe to a fixed odds site.
Sometimes their odds are pathetic too, but you at least have a choice to shop.
I quite often pass a bet because of what odds are being offered, per example 1 today $6 win and $1.6 tote and fixed odds, it ran third but who cares the place was highway robbery.

BUT now and again something CRAZY happens and I don't know why.

Cranbourne R6 I DO BLUE was showing $2.5 win on tab, it was my selection so to me no bet race as the place is obviously too short.

I went into fixed odds and it was showing $2.9 the win and $2.75 place, I couldn't believe my eyes so refreshed and it was still there, so I thought an opportunity that will happen once a year so bet 5 times my normal and it ran second , and I think paid $1.2 on nswtab.

I use 4 different accounts and in the minute before the jump I do my shopping.

I don't always go the right way but I am so far in front doing this it's not funny.

Cheers

Michaelg, excuse me if this is a very basic question but WHERE are the NSWTab ratings located on its website? I've had a bit of a look around but can't seem to locate them. :???:

The QldTab ratings are a cinch to find but not the NSW ones. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Too bad about Royal Hero just missing the win today and Memphis Express never really looked a chance after being trapped wide.

The overall WIN hit rate is still fantastic and there is ALWAYS tomorrow!
