Hi all, came across a reference to this staking plan whilst reading a most enjoyable thread recently -

http://www.smartgambler.com.au/gamb...orum=7&start=45

and was wondering if anyone out there is/has using it long term & if so your thoughts.

checking my results for the past 2 months, which have been fairly ordinary, it increased pot from -2.5% to +4.7% without a substantial increase in turover, & also keeping safe my bank, which was under serious threat for a while there.

davez,

I'm still using it with success, although I modified it a little to suit my purposes and after 300 odd bets increased POT by 10% on favourites.

Don't know if it will continue to outperform level stakes, but so far so good.

I think this is one of the better staking plans around providing you modify it to suit your own needs.

To make this system humm is to reduce the divisor by the price rather than the odds so as to give oneself an edge on when one has a small level stakes loss potential.
At the end of the day one has to is to pick a bunch of winners paying $3.00+

Low divs are the No.1 killer ,one will find this out by punting on the Dogs & especially Trots, its mind numbing how many short priced Favs get up over 100 bets paying next to nothing , you will be lucky to break even.

Thanks Chrome & Bhagwan.

After spending a fair amount of time last night going back thru my records for the last year or so, I have also modified it slightly.

Bhagwan, I could see early on what you mean about the shorty's - this wouldnt work (but does anything  ).

However after some 350 odd bets my average dividend hovers around $4.70-$4.80 - shortest $1.60, highest $18.60, so while I do get a run of <$3.00 winners now & again it has never lasted too long.

& at level stakes, which has always been my prefered betting method, it has made shown a significant improvement, while adding extra protection to my bank.

I dont know much about the 'Power Of 10', but am assuming this is similar?
