they make so much at stud that even if he wins all his races he still wont make as much prizemoney..any plans on shuttling him ?

TheAvenger 4th August 2004 04:14 AM

I'm not certain what shuttling means, in the Aussie sense, but he will soon take up residence at a Kentucky stud farm. We don't move studs around much here; mares must come to him. Yes, they will make a lot of money from his breeding.

Glenn

I remember seeing on Bred to Win there a couple of weeks back that the horse would stand only in America and would certainly not be coming to Australia.

It kind of saddens me to see such quality race horses retire to stud for example reset / exceed & excel ! i think it deprives the public of seeing these champion horses at there best! Owners are keen to make more money out of stud fees than racing, when i'm sure a lot of them don't need it ...

how good would of it of been to see Lonhro have one more crack at that elusive Cox plate...and in fairytale land Northerly would be competing against him..

What about Thorn Park,,he finally starts to live up to his potential and he retires..';[p

Let's use some logic here. Horse racing is BIG BUSINESS. Successful owners place their horses and retire their horses to maximise their wealth and further their own business interests. The punters are not part of the equation. Never have been and never will be.

TheAvenger 5th August 2004 09:07 AM

Right you are, Mr. Logic....we punters just get to pay most of the bill for horseracing, at least that's true for the Pari-mutual system here in the states.

Glenn
