Hi all

What has been the highest win strike rate you have been able to achieve consistently?

How have you achieved it?
-rating service
-tips
-form
-market movers
-combination of variables
-field size restrictions
etc

The highest win rate only ,without prices taken into consideration ,would have to be backing the whole field for a 100% SR for a big LOT.

You could back Favs paying $2.90 & less ,for a 44% SR & a small loss on turnover

Currently running at a tad over 20% which is all I need to keep my head above water.

How is it achieved? Add 200 headaches, a few dozen heartbreaks & the odd 'on the brink of a nervous breakdown' & Hey Presto! I manage to back 1 winner in 5!

I use ratings that I prepare using a method originated by a person whose name is not allowed to be mentioned on this forum.

Dutch betting the top 2 gives me a win SR of 56% at Field 8 down to 45% at Field 14. I bet (approx) 5 races per meeting. Sample abt. 9000 races.

Felicity (with whom I have corresponded) uses a similar method.

well at the end of the day a sound betting strategy is just as important as a sound stike rate - if either lets you down then poor house here we come!

Hi all

Thanks for your replies and it sounds about standard the 20% factor. Its the odds that make it or break it. Thats why 30% for fav. doesnt work across the board.

Thoroughbred:
-Do you follow you losses if you lose when you dutch bet the top two.
-I take it you bet on fields 8 to 14
- Do you stop after your fist winner and achieve a target.

If I'm NOT target betting then I let every bet stand on its own. I never chase these losses with progressions.

If Target Betting then I will progress bet up to 3 losses and then quit. I have a Daily Target SR of 90% over 2 years so I can cope with the down days quite easily.

A 40-50% RSR translates into 3 or 4 winners per meeting so Target works well.
