I have been doing an internet search on which races to eliminate.

My thoughts are as follows:

Maiden Races
Classs 1 through 6
Jumps Races
3 YO fillies
Fillies and Mares.

Which leaves Welter, Open sprint and distance, WFA Set weights and Feature races with 10 or more starters.

What are your thoughts on this confusing issue?

Benny,
I basically agree with the type of races you ended up with BUT I believe you should further restrict the races you bet on to those with less than 15 starters.
You may get higher prices in big fields but the chances of interference, bad luck etc increase dramatically - in other words the prices may be bigger but they are not better!

Except the Melbourne Cup have to bet that one

With so many "unknowns" in racing, I would suggest sticking with the type of race where most of the form is exposed, and easily assessed.

Open distance handicaps!!!

Good luck.
