For those interested in the sectionals for Melbourne Cup below is the top 10 for the 800-200m and 600m-finish. Note the reason I give the 2 different sectionals (800-200 and 600-finish) is because the last 200m of any race is generally the slowest and the last 600m times maybe slightly skewed and may give a false impression of what the run home was like. They may also show when the horse peaked on its run, e.g. Distinction. Other than that, the rest is pretty self-explanatory.
