I am working on some new ratings to see how they go.. These are untried so I am only posting them as an experiment for a while. They may very well be garbage, but I will just wait n see. Again lots of caution.

I liked checking your ratings when you've put them up in the past - often nice results - but then you vanished!

These ratings look a bit dubious to me - particularly the last two races at Hawksbury - no Langborghini in the eighth? (admittedly up in class, but sure to run well the way he finishes off his races) - and in the ninth Radetzky March rates clear of the field in my view (winner at the track + nicely drawn + 1400m ideal + promising horse on the up).

Anyway - looking forward to checking the results at the end of the day...then I'll probably have to edit and proclaim you the master...

Yep u are probably right, about Lamborghini and Radetsky. I am tryin 2 different approches to rating at the moment. The ones I posted plus another. Just for interst I will post you the other set of ratings for 2 races you mentioned. Like in the 2nd at Hawkesbury, (where the fav was well and truly overbet, my ratings had the winner rated 2nd, but just 1 point behind.. I think the fav started at about 1/2... Not with my money). i don't think those 2 horses are by any means "shoe ins". Admittedly they rate better doing it the other way. Here are the "other" Ratings:

This is in no way to be ascribed as to be a put down,but I am grateful that the Avatars are not flying or dancing at the minute.

But I would like to know fromm the Xptdriver,what the difference in ratings means.
That is,does a 100 rating mean itis a kilo better off than a 99 rating?
That sort of thing.
And I also am grateful that you are back posting,Xptdriver.
I have read some of your stuff in searches,and indeed you are a GREAT contributor as far as useful knowledge is concerned.

Right on the money at Port Lincoln and Townsville; nothing much at Cranbourne and Hawksbury...odd!

Sorry for the tardiness replying, gotta work a real job.

to answer your question about what the number actually means.. Nothing really.. It is a conversion number from a much greater number, to make the ratings more easily understandable. With the type of ratings I posted I decided to use the ratings figure instead of the price. ( I always used to post a rating expressed as a price- set at about 116%, to represent the TAB take out). the 100 was the top score possible, in most races that is acheived, some it isn't. But sadly those ratings were not as good as I would like so I will keep on fiddling.. a few favs and a decent priced winner, I havent checked but they may have shown a small profit, depending on where you were betting.
