Blast from the past

I've just been digging around through some of my old stuff and I've come across some old systems that I've collected over the years. Can anyone tell me how this one has gone in the last few years. I think it did pretty well back when I first came across it about 10 years ago I think.

(1) 1200-1850m
(2) 8-14 starters
(3) Highest average prizemoney earner
(4) Barrier 1-7
(5) Last start within 21 days
(6) Finished in first 4 last 2 starts
(7) Up or down no more than 2 kgs
(8) Up or down no more than 200m
(9) At least 10% wins

I'd also like to check how it would have gone with rule 4 changed to Barriers 1-3 or with rule 4 deleted altogether. Not sure I'm keen on using Barriers 1-7. Why should barrier 7 do so much better than barrier 8???

Blast from the past

Blast from the past was published in a racing magazine some years ago.It only averaged around 15% win strike rate when i followed it and i was miles behind money wise.You could try and tweek it ......cheers

Oh I'm sorry, 'Blast from the past' isn't actually the name of this system. That's just the title I gave to this thread. :D

Not much action Sportz. 2004 stats on Saturday metro meetings only came up with 8 selns for 4 winners and a small loss.

WIN PLACE
Races Bet : 12 12
Races Won : 4 9
S.R./Race : 33.3% 75.0%
Outlay ($): 12.00 12.00
Return : 10.30 12.40
$ Profit : -1.70 0.40
% P.O.T. : -14.2% 3.3%

Ignoring rule 4 re the barriers it came up with a few more selections and a small profit

WIN PLACE
Races Bet : 21 21
Races Won : 8 16
S.R./Race : 38.1% 76.2%
Outlay ($): 21.00 21.00
Return : 24.70 22.80
$ Profit : 3.70 1.80
% P.O.T. : 17.6% 8.6%

Hmmm, yeah I think if I was going to use it, I'd take rule 4 out. That shows a bit of promise.

And if the distance rule is ignored then the following:

WIN PLACE

Races Bet: 28 28
Races Won: 11 21
S.R./Race: 39.3% 75.0%
Outlay ($): 28.00 28.00
Return: 34.40 30.24
$ Profit: 6.40 2.24
% P.O.T.: 22.9% 8.0%

LOL this system seems to get better the more rules you eliminate!

Does anyone with a larger database of results have any info on this system???
