Ratings

Can someone suggest a simple way of rating and pricing the main chances in a race?

I tried many differnt methods, but they are to hard.

I would have to say simple weight ratings if you can get a hold of an easy to use weight class rating chart

WHY NOT TRY??

There are a couple of FREE rating and pricing services on the net.
Why not log in to them to see how you go.
Unfortunately I cant post their names here as they are in competition to this site.
Cheers.

Try this.

Give each starter a number starting from 1 for the horse with the least chance, incrementing by one until you reach the horse with the best chance.
Do same with the jockeys.
And maybe trainers, barriers and whatever you think.
Add up each selections tally and divide it into the complete fields tally and there is your price.

I suppose more for simplicity sake but its quite true what you say.
An old idea was to add 1 to your assessed number of chances in the race and accept that as your MINIMUM price .
Cheers.

Benny,

Just get yourself a Sportsman and use the zipform ratings. I believe they are consistently as good as any ratings service going around. I use them when the zipform comes up with two or three clear chances in the race and have a great strike rate. You can develop other strategies for their use also.
