Distinctive Homes Handicap 1000m

No. Horse Trainer Jockey Barr Wgt Pen
1 SQUILLANI Phillip Stokes T Baker (a3) 7 60.5
2 GRACE AND POWER David Balfour C L Bryant 8 56
3 SAIN KHAPITAL (NZ) Tony McEvoy S Leckey (a3) 3 55
4 CULLEN BAY Graham Fryer Ms H McKechnie (a1.5) 2 54.5
5 SUNDAY SHOES Stuart Gower B Hoppo (a3) 4 52
6 SWISS VAULT Stuart Gower Ms N Stone (a3) 1 52
7 SASSBEE David Jolly D Dunn 5 52
8 MICKYMOO Greg Lesnikowski W Kerford 6 52

Think this is nearly the race of the day on Saturday, a really high class, intriguing line-up and could make a case for the top 7. We've got interstate visitors, distance specialists, first uppers, claiming apprentices what more could you want? Plenty of speed on with the likes of GAP and Cullen Bay going at it could give a chance to the lightweight swoopers. I think the best of these is Sassbee who showed he is a serious racehorse last prep with 2 dynamite performances, think the small field will suit him and he looks to be the one going places in this field.

What about poor old Mickymoo??? :D

I hope you're right in your prediction of Sassbee. Personally, I think it should be a battle between Squillani and Sassbee. Squillani has a brilliant first up record and I've backed him successfully the last 3 or 4 first up runs.

I used to live in Darwin and Mickymoo was one of my Fave horses, he was a superstar up there. He will charge forward early but be left well-wanting in the straight against this lot. Squillani is very good, just see it hard for Squillani weightwise, with the brilliant sectionals Sassbee can run. Sain Khapital also a big chance, but have been dissapointed with his last 2 first up performances at the Valley.

I'm shocking with sexes, i always stuff em up, have been following Via De Lago for nearly a year, and it took me till this morning to figure out he's a gelding and not a mare.

Sometimes the names suggest something completely different. I guess MICKYMOO probably just sounds more like a male name with the MICKY at the beginning.

There's one guy from Best Bets that does the Sydney tips on Radiotab and for some reason he just tends to refer to ALL horses as 'HE'. Believe it or not, even when he was giving his tips on The Oaks (so obviously there was no doubt about gender), he said HE and HIM about all the fillies he mentioned.

$5 Sassbee was a gift, very, very, good horse.
