By definition, the worst race in Australia on any given day is probably a race which is unsuitable for many people's systems, but let's look at today anyway:
I would say that the worst race today was R1 at Orange. A field of 7 starters and 6 of the runners had compiled 32 runs between them without a single solitary placing. The other runner was a first starter and given the awful form of the other 6, it didn't have to be all that good to have a great chance. Sure enough, it won at $20. Easy to be wise fter the event though. ;)
Now, as for systems that could have picked this winner, you could have used the sole first starter in a maiden. That one's not a bad system. Or then there's simply backing R1 number1, no matter the form.
