Winning form is good form
 

A nice simple formula:

Step 1) Select all the last start winners
Step 2) Select the best pre-race backed
Step 3) 2nd last start has to have placed 2nd or 3rd

Ive used this simplistic way recently on greyhounds.

So far the signs are good:

Today's races (although some have been run)

Wangaratta just finished
R4: #4 (1st $1.50)
R5: #4 (1st $4.00)

Meadows:

R8: #4
R10: #8
R11: #1

Just another note about winning form. Trainer form is also very important.

Ive found after working at the greyhounds this year that there is always a trainer who gets a double and those who sometimes get a treble or a quad. It is very important to take note of which trainers have won during the course of the meeting. Because like Wed at the Meadows, JJ Kelly won the first at $15-1 then another dog won race 9 at $8.60 then another at Race 12 at $7.60

so if you were to follow JJ Kelly after race one:

Selections:2
Winners 2 at $8.60 and $7.60
And they are NICE odds for greyhounds.

Winning form is good form. Ill follow it at the Meadows and see whether this method will prevail (yet again) but for your benefit.

Sorry Oaksnaf, but this is just another "Form" based system which leads to (mostly) overbet horses/dogs that anyone can see SHOULD win but DON'T (not enough,I mean). Of course the horse/dog/human which is "in form" is (obviously) "the one", however what you need is an angle that ISN'T obvious so that the payoffs outweigh the losses SIGNIFICANTLY!! Good Luck!

Yes very valid points. But why immense yourself in such form guides and dog racing patterns which take a lifetime to conjure up?

im not looking for that one dog in every 5 races to pay $7 a win. Im looking for consistancy. And when a dog places then wins, they usually do well in the next run.

But hey you have got every right to be critical of such a simplistic way.
