Dandy Kid

Have heard a massive whisper that tomorrow will be it! Dandy kid was set this whole campaign to claim the mooney valley record. Whilst the original plan was a win last start (I had my cash all over him and looked set to collect at the 100m mark), apparently the horse is looking fitter than ever and tomorrow is there biggest chance yet. This is from a mate of mine who is doing some part time track work for griffiths. Hoping for $5 but unsure.

Thanks real deal, rated him very highly aswell.

I hate the valley, i can never snag a winner.
What are everyones thoughts on race 6. It is a mighty tough race. Need some guidance, i thought Silver Birch's last run was tops and likes the track, but there are a handful of chances. I will have something small on my namesake - she normally has a good record second up but first up run was not all that good, however back from close to a year in the paddock.

CHeers,
Matt

Race 6, real tough one, if you must punt, go with Tal Jack, strong win last start and likes the valley, might get around $8-$10.

What a great record it would have been if Dandy had been made to carry the real weight allotted to him by the handicapper.
Since June 2nd. 2004, Dandy has won 6 races at M. V. over 1200m.
In the first of these 6 wins he carried 55kg. after a claim.
His sixth and latest win, he carried 55kg after the claim.
What other horse in history has been able to win 6 metropolitan races in a 12 month period and carry the same weight in his last win as he did in his first.
Also included in this period were four placings, one of them a G4 WFA race.
The use of an apprentice rider to defeat the handicapper in all of Dandy's past six wins makes a nonsense of the notion that claims are only there to compensate for a rider's inexperience.
It's about time the whole system of apprentice claims was reviewed.
The allowances are far to generous in this day and age, particularly for talented and naturally gifted riders.
Can we assume that Dandy Kid would have won Saturday's race with a senior jockey on board because the 3kg. claim for Guthrie only compensated for his inexperience.
If that's the case, why not use a senior jockey?
The theory that a 3kg. claim equals X. degree of inexperience is absolute rubbish.

Yeh, interesting that about the weight. I have a similar question. Which horse backs up 2 good seconds with a good first then starts 13 at his next race start which he subsequently wins well, then starts 5.50 with some bookies next start,...which he wins.
