Hi there Imagele
I used to follow first uppers religiously at one stage and did quite well because of the overs. I think 2nd up and even 3rd up is ok as well as long as the previous preparation's form was ok and especially if they hadn't figured much in there runs back in the new preparation (a recent one that I'm still cranky about is Doonan Dancer who won 3rd up after 2 nothing runs 1 and 2 up). I remember a thing called How Fast ploughing through the mud down the straight six at over $100/1. That was in 1992 which makes me realise I am in the middle of a long drought as far as memorable winners are concerned (unlike hard luck stories). Unfortunately I don't seem to have the time to study these so closely nowadays. I'm putting some fairly weak-kneed predictions up on here again. I'm confident they will make a long term profit using my ratings method but I know that this method has some bad runs of outs and isn't for everybody. Incidentally, I remember Imagele as well. He was a Sostenuto I think. I remember that breed well - very temperamental.
