Default Hey Darky

Nice to hear from you.

Yes i still place bet, i dont use the crusher anymore, i used it for a few months but everything has changed.

I dont bet on dogs now after seeing the error in my ways, its too hit and miss.
I dont bet on trots, the divs are all over the place.
I have been back at the horsies, ive never really stopped.

I have learnt a lot about obtaining an edge, looking for the best odds, i now have three differant online bookies and nsw and unitab, this helps get the div paid up by a considerable amount, so that 1.45 average is now with a little bigger.

with some looking arround, i now dont take a place bet unless i can roughly get 2+ for the place, and i (for the first time in my life) FLAT STAKE !

My strike rate doesnt move much, monday had eight for eight, yesterday five from ten, but as long as i average 60%, flat stakes show 10-20% pot (depending on returned odds, no "fixed price on place")which is just fine with me.

I have been looking at something for a few months but have done my 'test bank' on it so i am looking to refine that one before i have another go, you know the one, worked realy good for a while but i cant justify it at the moment whilst my place thing is doing ok. Its a great idea but a little hit and miss for me at the moment.

The idea i had anyway was pretty basic,

look at the unitab 95-100 pointers, compare that with BOTH radio tab and guest tipster on top. If the 95-100 pointer is in both, and the odds are acceptable, go which ever one for a place. When i was averaging 1.45, it was too hard, but with 2+ its nice.

The 100 pointers along with compairing seems to work for me, as long as the odds arent silly, must be minimum eight runners.

The next thing i like to do is set a target for the day, $X, once i have reached this i stop, happy to drink small from the well. Bank is the key, 2.5% of STARTING bank, and only adjusted when bank doubles, slow but safe.

There is an absolute ripper of a programme that i pulled down which calculates the % chance of going bust, your expected profit, etc, this thing is on fire, takes a while to calculate but it gives you a warm feeling knowing that you SHOULD be ok.

So, another twenty years and ill be ready to give the whole professional punting thin a go.

Cheers dingo
