Lesson number 1 when we are mid-week betting.
1.For all races plus 1600 metres, look closely at the pre post odds. Then keep reminding yourself that you should never bet on a 'good thing' like Empire Rising in the first at Murwullimbah.
Thankfully, UNITAB had number 6 (Silver Bonanza) as a special and it had a good record at the track...so I had a tentaive go at it. Empire Rising had Robbo in the saddle and plugged away ok. Interestingly, Empre Rising was $4 pre post, with the first seven runners all under double figure odds.
What a trap race.......
I am going to start keeping stats on favourites (tote pre-post and last price) in mid week races + 1660 metres. I am pretty sure that the faves win % will be pathetic, regardless of field size and location. Too many variables come into play IMO in these races.........
