Approx Quinella divs on the TAB are worked out the same way as all their divs - they add up the pool total, take out their cut (about 20% from memory for Quinellas) and then calculate the divs based on the number of units bet on each combination. Eg. If there was $1000 in the pool and $40 of that was bet on the combination 1-2 then the div would be:
$1000 * 80% = $800 (amount available)
$800/$240 = $20
So approx div for 1-2 would be $20
