In race 2 ex Victorian
Molfetta will make his WA debut. Drawn well, apprentice claim, good first-up record and 2 good recent trials.
Race 5 we have the lightly raced
Stitching Having 4th start in WA since venturing west from Victoria but importantly stepping up in distance which should suit and has a new rider (someone called Paul Harvey
)
In race 6 we have two ex Victorian mares both having their 2nd start in WA –
Dan’s Princess and
Saracen Star. Both had backing first-up but were unplaced, Dan’s Princess performing best. The higher class Dan’s Princess does look the better chance of the two.
Race 7
Caulfield Jim returns from a short stint in the east and has a good first-up record.
Race 8
Captain Woodrow is another who has returned from a short stint in the east. Two starts this time in WA both strong efforts. Should be cherry-ripe for this.
Race 5 the much travelled
Prince Firebolt will be suited by the extra 100M. Former NSW country galloper
Forest Frolic was impressive initial short campaign in country WA October 2005 and has the benefit of 3 good recent trials. The former Victorian country gelding
Charabanc was unwanted in betting first-up in WA and raced accordingly. Did race wide throughout in that race and will be fitter for this start.
