Unitab Quinellas
I have been looking at the Unitab ratings for quinella betting. I used 50 to 70% of the field in box quinellas. I have applied this rule to only those horses with a rating of 90 points-plus in fields of 9 to 12 starters. If there are 10 starters then there must be a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 7 runners that have 90 points or more. If only 4 (40%) runners have 90 points-plus then it is a no-race, the same if 8 runners have 90 points-plus. Hopefully this identifies races that don't have short-priced faves or races that are too "open".
The results since last Saturday (Unitab divvies) are:
22 quinellas from 28 races.
Outlay of $435 for a return of $578 = by my calcs this is a POT of 32.8%.
I have ignored the cents in the divvies, so if a quinella paid $10.90 I have recorded it as $10. With 22 successful quinellas it would not be unreasonable to expect an extra $10 on top of the $578. I have not looked at trifectas but would not be surprised if thet haven't done too badly.
If anyone's interested, today's races are:
Hawkesbury R6 nos.2, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12
Hawkesbury R7 nos. 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10
Bendigo R6 nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9
Ipswich R1 nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 10
Ipswich r6 nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Ipswich R8 nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 12

Trifecta outlay of $1,902
