The duel results here don't mean anything of course at this stage, but I have a couple of observations.

Not quite the old rules [dead track a gamble without handicapping the selection for it] and the 7 or 14 days make no handicapping sense when applied to any other days besides Wed. or Sat.
16 days says 'fit and pulled up well last start' as does 7 or 14 but why not 8,9,10,11 etc to 16 days when the race day is a Sunday or any day besides Wed. or Sat.? You get my drift.
