Punters Club Dilemma
Hi All
My mate is involved in a punting club at his work.
It involves everyone chipping in $20 a week, with about 20 people involved.
The club has also invested in a "tipping service" to assist their selections.
So they have say $400 a week to punt on anywhere between 1 and 5 selections.
We have had a bit of a debate about how to bet those selections..... I said I'd post it on the forum and then he can read through other peoples suggestions and make up his own mind........ some of the posibilie methods being (approx): - Level stakes i.e $400/selections = bet amount
- $400/4= $100 win on each horse
- Level stakes on max number of bets to be placed:
- no more than 5 bets a week
- $80 only bet per horse
- additional being banked
- Staking by ratio i.e. PP odds =
- $4.50 (28%=$114),
- $5.50(34%=$137),
- $2.50 (15%=$63),
- $3.50 (21%=$86 )
- Staking by relative odds i.e. PP odds =
- $4.50 (1:1.2=$80),
- $5.50(1:1=$66),
- $2.50 (1:2.2=$147),
- $3.50 (1:1.6=$107 )
- return needed $100 then increased to exhaust funds, i.e. PP odds =
- $4.50 (100/3.5=$29, therefore to exhaust funds = $74 (would return $260)
- $5.50($100/4.5=$22), therefore to exhaust funds = $56 (would return $260)
- $2.50 ($100/1.5=$66), therefore to exhaust funds = $168 (would return $260)
- $3.50 ($100/2.5=40) therefore to exhaust funds = $102 (would return $260)
FAQ's - Yes he may have been silly to go a tipping service
- No it's not me
- The strike rate is approx 30%
- POT approx 29%
- Service only tips dead or better tracks
Thanks in Advance
