Wonderful Word's last win over 1400m [a G3] was 3.47 seconds outside the track record -on a good track too. Not a bad effort in Bar plates though and I wouldn't be surprised if he beat this lot either:-)

A 'Dead 4' today after a 3 day heat wave and northerly winds. No wonder Melb. Dams are short of water, their flooding the racecourses with it to protect all the over-raced shin-sore horses belonging to the rich and famous.

Zipping is st.uff.ed for the Caulfield, so Purcer was spot on there about him a couple of weeks back I think, about the horse being shin-sore.
