It does seem that most place bets are generally poor Value.

select: 83 x 2 win only [no place bet]
win: 30

Win R : 72.50 x 2 = 145

Invest : 166
Return : 145

Loss : $21

I don't know how that would have went over your longer tipping period, but I'd guess it would probably show a similar improvement as above [?]
