Hi goldeee. I don't think it was just the weight that beat Black Tom. To be fair to the horse (and connections) he had no hope after becoming entangled with Coalseam at the 650m (when that horse clipped Woodala’s heels & dislodged it's jockey, Jason Brown). Also Black Tom's saddle slipped sideways in that incident. He did well just to finish the race imo.
