Yes Neil it does put punters off,Im afraid we do have the media/callers to blame for these assumptions and yes it is used to easily justify a horse's poor performance after the event!Pace in a race combined with positioning on the track is a key part in determining the winner.Maybe we take it for granted,wrongly,that because a horse sometimes settles at the back it will always.We also forget that each race is a completely different set of circumstances!Thankyou for your views.
