I found some time today to update my figures. I have made some alterations to the previous summaries.
1. Saturdays only (taken from 1st meeting 7/6)
2. Included are meetings when the city meeting is not held e.g. Ipswich 14/6, Sunshine Coast 28/6 and Mornington 27/9
3. I only take note of your top rated horse's price.
4. Any race with equal top rated horses is eliminated.
5. I then eliminate all horses rated > $3.20.
6. I have also ignored the WA rated and NZ rated races.

Results from the races left after these eliminations are :-

263 bets for 103 winners (39.2% S/R) and 177 places (67.3% S/R)

Betting $10 win on each selection (Using Sportsbet Citybest+ dividends) your bank would stand at $541.50 (POT % = 20.6%)

Interestingly, if we break the bets up into the States we find the following:-

Adelaide 71 bets 33 wins (46.1% S/R) Bank = $338.00 (POT % = 47.6%)
Brisbane 62 bets 22 wins (35.5% S/R) Bank = $47.00 (POT % = 7.6%)
Melbourne 73 bets 30 wins (41.1% S/R) Bank = $216.50 (POT % = 29.7%)
Sydney 57 bets 18 wins (31.6% S/R) Bank = -$60.00 (LOT % = -10.5%)

Looking at Place results (betting $10 using Sportsbet's Citybest+)

Adelaide 71 bets 50 places (70.4% S/R) Bank = $85.00 (POT % = 12.0%)
Brisbane 62 bets 44 places (71.0% S/R) Bank = $67.00 (POT % = 10.8%)
Melbourne 73 bets 50 places (68.5% S/R) Bank = $30.40 (POT % = 4.2%)
Sydney 57 bets 33 places (57.9% S/R) Bank = -$70.00 (LOT % = -12.3%)

Interesting comment you made about breaking up into various distance ranges, especially with Sydney, as backing all those qualifying selections is heading down the road to poverty!

We seem to differ slightly with the number of races since the 7th June but I guess the trends are still applicable. The fact that really stands out is how important it is to get the best odds when having a bet.

Taking 103 as the number of winners we have backed the difference means we have received an extra 23.5 cents per winner by backing citybest+! Certainly makes you think doesn't it.
