Bhagwan I agree with you totally,favourites get knocked over on a regular basis,most often by second,third and fourth favourites.Five rank outsiders out of eight races is unusual.
I go to the races at least three days a week and have done for many years,I'm not a big punter and losing is not an issue for me.I simply go to enjoy the racing and some convivial company.
I have seen the rise and fall of etamorhine,etc etc and the technology developed that identified anabolic steroids,which eventually became the downfall of certain premiership and other high profile trainers.
Had industry leaders maintained the "ostrich" approach to those issues and failed to address them appropriately, racing would have lost all credence.As it is the "smarties" will continue to develop performance enhancing drugs for all athletes, human as well as equine.
I'm not saying that the results at Taree the other day were drug related.What I am saying is that chains of inexplicable events should be given serious and intelligent consideration.
