Punters jump back on Silent

PUNTERS have not been deterred by star Sydney sprinter All Silent's outside draw in the Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin.

After drifting from $4 to $4.60, All Silent is into a best price $4.20 with corporate bookies. Sportingbet reported a bet of $20,000 each-way on the Grahame Begg-trained gelding at $4.40.

Carpenter tipped All Silent to beat fellow Aussie Scenic Blast and local star Sacred Kingdom at yesterday's International Handicappers' Conference at Sha Tin.

The handicapper said while he had some reservations, he believed All Silent's get-back style of racing would help him overcome the wide draw.

Begg said he would tell jockey Nick Hall to ride him like he did in Melbourne this spring: "Quietly."
