Moodie's two chances to shine

Considering the enormous number of yearlings that are nominated each year for the Blue Diamond Stakes - this year 1227 horses were entered for the race - making the final field for the $1 million event is as much of an achievement as winning it, which makes the record of runners from owner and breeder David Moodie even more impressive.
The bright lime green, purple and gold silks of Moodie's Contract Racing syndicate have been carried on racetracks around the state for 20 years but it is in the Blue Diamond that they have enjoyed a freakishly consistent record, one that Moodie hopes to continue with fillies Crystal Lily and Willow Creek this weekend.
