Default Dog Tips

Albion Park 1/7/10

Race 1

Despite the squeeze box, Where's Logan (5) looks a top chance in this weak novice. Beautifully bred out of middle distance bitch Nice Portrait, the white fawn dog steps up to 520m for the first time but under top trainer Selena Zammit should definitely figure in the finish. Mega Rumble (2) has shown a solid return to form after six months off the scene including a 30.36 win at headquarters. From the checks should sit just behind the early leaders but could prove too strong for this lot. Tom Fields (8) has shown tremendous pace at the provincial tracks and first up last week over the 520m at Albion was slow out and well back. that track experience could do him the world of good and with room to move out wide could find the early lead and give these something to run down. Broken Piston (1) will relish a decent draw for a change and comes off a recent 30.76 win at Ipswich which holds him in good stead.

Race 2

A tough race with a few good young dogs. Chasin Chloe (1) has the draw which could be enough of an advantage to win this one. Recently posted a 30.00 win around Albion. Auriga Fox (3) has plenty of early toe, plenty of heart and has the runs on the board. winner of two Group 2 races already Auriga Fox has a track PB of 29.98 and if he leads he wins. Hanify Forte (7) has even more early pace than the first two but is a query at the distance. can probably only run 30.30 so will need a break to salute. Lawson's Hero (5) is a littermate to race 1's Where's Logan and will be rattling home late. Loves Albion Park and despite a PB of only 30.47 has plenty of improvement left in him.

Race 3

another tough race here with the box draw likely to play a major part. Fie Fie (1) is a solid enough chaser to take this out with the rails draw a big advantage. Happy Clown (4) and Gnarraloo (5) easily fastest dogs in the field but if they miss the start ever so slightly they will be in big trouble. Happy Clown has a brilliant record over the T/D with 5 wins from 7 starts. has recently been freshened and should start favourite. Gnarraloo has never shown much over the middle distance with just the 1 victory from 8 starts but has been plagued by bad box draws and here is another one. Midnight Surf (8) has a solid record at Albion Park and from out wide could cross and lead this field.

Race 4

Boot Strings (1) on paper looks a moral in this. Has a PB of 30.05 and last week almost matched that with a 30.07 victory. Positano (3) looks the only danger but has lost its early pace of late despite some solid performances overall. Uno Trivia (4) has enough early pace to lead the inside dog but the 520m pulls him up pretty quick. Tomisha's Gold (2) throws in a solid race every now and then and likes an inside draw.

Race 5

Tom Noble has some of the most erratic dogs i've ever seen race (including Happy Clown in race 3) another of those dogs appears here in Terrific Style (5). Four starts back Terrific Style motored through a 5.64 first section for a brilliant 30.20 win. since then it has mixed form and has gone nowhere near as quick early. From box 5 its 50/50 which dog will turn up. Give Em Curry (1) shows enough pace to be in the race for a long way. has won 2 of its last 3 and has a solid PB of 30.51 which could win this race. Uno Play Boy (8) has made a return to sprint racing after a distance campaign and could overpower these if close enough early. Hillcrest Gwen has its first Albion Park start but is smartly trained by Glenda Dart and has shown enough on provincial tracks to compete in this provided she handles the track.

Race 6

Another rails selection here with early speedster Our Miss Maud (1). Has a recent PB of 30.30 under its belt and consistently runs 5.70 early sections. will lead for a long way. Blazing Chaos (6) has returned from a stint in Victoria recently with huge wraps but has so far failed to live up to expectations. just cant run 520m. Best Behaviour (7) is another of the Where's Pedro - Nice Portrait litter and the best performed. has a PB of 30.34 here and looks well suited out wide to get a nice run across. Luva Drink (8) has been around a while and consistenly runs into the money. doesn't mind it out wide and experience could prove vital over these youngsters.

Race 7

The distance race for the night is pretty typical with all 8 runners a chance. really tough race. unless you have a little inside info on these runners steer clear. Saturn Assassin (3) is a strange bitch unlike others i know that it only runs well when its on season, most bitches cant run. Lady Tycoon (2) will benefit plenty from its first start over the distance and with a good run early is the one to beat. Bare Essentials (8) has been hot this T/D of late winning 2 of 3 and a 42.31 its best. Gold Sonata (4) returns to the staying ranks despite a solid PB of 42.10 hasn't been impressive enough over 710m to tip on top.

selections
2,3,4,8

Race 8

I like Gnarley Boy (5). has a week freshen up on his side here which i think will give him the pace to lead this field. Ryan's a Rocket (1) is a box one specialist and despite its poor form of late could bounce back. Berella Rihanna (7) has been winning well lately and leading easily. Premier Chief (3) isn't the fastest in the field but for a long while now has been the most consistent. has been in winning form of late and always a danger.

selections
5,7,3,1

Race 9

Pure Surf (1) has run last his past 3 starts. despite that off the draw i think has the opportunity to lead. Lilly's Field (4) is second up from a spell and ran a solid third first up. should be improved by that run and can run time. I'm Puzzled Too (2) will compete for the early lead but is weak in the run home despite being a middle distance galloper, and has a solid record at the track. Roman Express (3) has been in far stronger ffields of late and will enjoy the drop in class.

selections
1,4,3,2

race 10

Big Baz (5) has been racing against far superior company of late and despite the middle box should be more than capable nof defeating this bunch. ********** Bell (7) is out of 600m track record holder Oreo and has group form through his career. Big Danger. Hez Regal (1) will enjoy an inside draw and has a PB of 35.21 this T/D, however can be hit and miss at box rise which is a worry. Best of the rest Midnight Lee (6) with 2 minor placings from 4 starts this T/D.
