Cox Plate 2010
Building to be the match race of the spring. Im on the mares side, but talking from my pocket (got a ticket on her at $51) and I am a massive fan of SYT as well as I backed him at over $60 last year.
Looking back at last week at Caulfield.
I thought the performances of both were a little deceiving. Both were first class obviously but after getting home from Melbourne and assesing the races I dare say her run was alot better than I first thought. He won ultra impressively, albeit the tone of the day. She possibly won from the furtherest position back on the turn and wider out than any other runner all day carrying the most weight (compared with the field she was against).
I honestly dont think there is as much difference between the two as currently being offered with bookies and she will be getting 2kgs off him.
Now who else?
Whobetgotyou - not on last weeks performace.
Zipping - Flogged Descarado 2 weeks ago, that form looks ok today.
Shoot Out - Form is solid, beat descarado in the AJC derby last prep (more joyous also beat descarado by 6l 2 starts back) Needs to improve about 5lengths on last MV performance to place I think.
Linton - Only other horse who won from off the speed last week, Melbourne cup looks much more appealing.
Trusting - More joyous beat him without hitting 2nd gear 2 starts back.
Captain Sonador - Backed him in the epsom, More Joyous wasnt there...
Avienus - Vowed to back this horse next start after last week. Did make ground on the best part of the track. Will win a good race this spring but not sure this is it.
Allez Wonder - Bart Scares me...
Wall Street - Oh no bro, your beached ezz
Luen Yat Forever - good run last week at big odds, could be a smokey for multis.
Everything in my eyes points to a match race between the two new superstars of the era and I can't wait to see which one comes out on top!
