This looks like a solid method,i think i know the filters youre applying and would suggest you also filter the type of races you are betting on.

MR1,MR2,SR2,AR3 and BR2 were all races that had at least one horse with three starts or less.

Avoid these high risk hard to rate races and your on to something here.
