Quite so Gerry, we remarked on this a couple of weeks ago with Xanadu, betting on tracks more swamp than turf is crazy, unless there is a known "swimmer" in the race.
Still, some punters would bet on anything, they seem to enjoy the process more than winning itself. To them profit is just icing on the cake.
Nothing wrong with that either, if losses kept in moderate levels, people do all sorts of things for recreation.
