Because it's a new race, it hasn't had much of a chance to be upgraded to listed or group status yet. But clearly the race club still wants to provide enough prizemoney to give the race some prestige befitting the name "Sandown Cup". And they would be hoping to have it upgraded to group or listed status in the near future.
