I am not an e x p e r t at all on this but I would be asking a few questions:
1. Does the top 4 produce a profit backing each selection ?
2. Do they make a profit at a certain odds range ?
3. Do they make a profit if you dutch them ?
Personally I would try the following but its only a guess.
I would only bet the races where I could dutch bet the top 4 selections to return at least a 100% profit.
To do this you can do the following. Divide 100 by the odds-1 of each selection. If the sum of these is less then 50 then you can bet the race.
For example
Top rated : $10
2nd top rated $10
3rd Top Rated : $10
4th top rated : $10
This would be 100/(10-1) + 100/(10-1) + 100/(10-1) + 100/(10-1) = $44.44
This could be a bet.
Of course with 4 top rated selections it will be hard to get at least a 100% return. Maybe you could aim for 150% return instead. In that case the total needs to be less then 66.
You may even find it better to dutch the top 2 or top 3. You need to work this out based on your strike rates.
BTW Why can't I write e x p e r t without spaces on this forum ?
