Hi TAM - Welcome.
One good method that I have used is to use my selection, providing it is at good odds, as a roving banker in the trifecta.(you collect as long as your selection runs a place).
It costs a fair bit more than your normal trifecta but is very effective where you pick a horse at 10/1 or better and the race is very open. You can collect some big dividends especially when an outsider wins and your selection runs second.
