Question

Gee Star, almost two and a half years since your last post and you come out of the woodwork for this. Hmmm.

This is a commercial operation, we know that as they describe themselves as a business. While I've no problem with that I though it worthwhile to read the fine print. I'll say it again, I don't know what this is. What business is this? What are they selling?

Why for instance would I need to provide a photo ID to proof of my identity?

"(Name of website deleted - Moderator) may, at any time, request acceptable photographic identification and proof of your current address to ensure that all information supplied by the Member is up to date. This may require official Certification of identification documents by a permitted Certifier upon request by (Name of website deleted -Moderator)."

Why are the Terms and Conditions full of references to account deposits? I can't see any place on the site to buy anything.

Why doesn't it mention what they do with the systems users develop?

Why are they aggregating my personal data to provide to potential stakeholders?

"(Name of website deleted - Moderator) only collects Personal Data ("Personal Data") from you:

...

· to create aggregate data about Members through demographic profiling, statistical analysis of the database to provide to potential and existing stakeholders"

This is clearly more than a "free" data base for punters. But what is it?
